EP – Rough Cut Edit 02
I got the second attempt for my project. This time, I rented a GoPro camera and filmed with it. Thanks to its stabilization feature, the shots that were shaky in the previous attempt now seem stable. I am quite satisfied with them. However, I noticed some issues in the video.
- Firstly, the area around the desk looks cluttered due to the small size of the room. It would have been better if I could have rented a studio, but this would require additional budget. As a workaround, I plan to trim the edges or defocus them in Nuke if possible.
- Secondly, I encountered difficulties filming the ending part due to shadows. When attempting to interact with objects, my hand’s shadow interfered with the shot, making it challenging to capture. I am unsure how to address this issue. If feasible, I intend to model and texture figures to closely resemble the real ones, render them, and composite them onto the original footage. While modeling should be straightforward due to the simple shape, replicating the material to match the original may pose a challenge due to its refraction.
With these challenges in mind, I will proceed to the next stage, animation. Starting with blocking animation seems like a sensible approach. Although animation is not my strength, further experimentation and study are inevitable.
