For the seventh week, we filmed the green screen scenes. We booked the green screen room and a Blackmagic camera for filming and tried to bring the scooter into the green screen room. However, the staff at the reception didn’t allow us to bring it in due to health and safety concerns. They said we couldn’t bring it into the university because it has a battery and might explode, so we needed to get permission from the health and safety team at least two days before the filming day. We suddenly found ourselves unable to film that day, but we found a solution using the green screen kit. We rented the kit from the kit room, which included a large green cloth and poles. We moved to the parking lot at Violette’s place and successfully finished filming.

After filming, I experimented with the green screen in Nuke. Since the green screen didn’t fully cover the frame, I rotoed only the inside area of the green screen, then removed and despilled the green. To check how it looked, I added a cylinder with a simple animation. I noticed that the alpha of his neck was wobbling due to the uneven background, so I’ll fix it by setting a more detailed area for the keylight.

My tasks for next week:

  • Extracting green screen data
