Retopology

I sculpted a cat in ZBrush, starting with ZSpheres and refining the model with various brushes and ZRemesher. Once the initial modeling was complete, I imported it into Maya. However, I found the mesh structure unsuitable for my needs, prompting me to perform retopology work in Maya. During this process, I aimed to add a mouth and nose, but faced challenges in efficiently adding edges without disrupting the edge loop. Seeking guidance, I reached out to Manos, and he provided a simple yet effective solution. Thanks to his assistance, I successfully incorporated the nose and mouth. (Additionally, I made adjustments to the cat’s hands, although these will be concealed by the costume.)

Texturing

With the modeling phase concluded, I transitioned to Substance Painter. Utilizing an online image of a cat’s eye, I adjusted it to a cyan color. Subsequently, I filled the model with an orange color for its skin and employed the Fibers brush to simulate fur (it was quite similar to fur).

With the main character’s base now complete, the next step involves continuing the modeling process for the costume. Given my limited proficiency in modeling, this stage is expected to require additional time and effort.
