Finally, our project is complete. Since our slogan is “No Green No Dream,” it can also serve as the title of our project.

Critical Reflection

It was quite a long journey, but we finally made it. It was a great collaboration because the group members had skills that I don’t have, such as FX, foliage, and filming. If I had tried to create it by myself, I definitely couldn’t have done it. The outcome looks overall fine. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I wanted to make the green screen scene more realistic using additional light and shadow. If we had tested earlier, I think I could have created the scene in Unreal or Maya. I guess if there was more time, we could have experimented with a more realistic glass shader and person model under it. Also, we filmed all footage in over 4K, but to reduce time and volume, we had to resize it to 2K. However, thanks to this, we could get more accurate tracking data.

Regarding the process of the project, one thing I found a bit regretful is that nobody was good at time management, and we were not very proactive. In the collaborative project I experienced last term, some members were very proactive and led the project well. This time, we were more passive, so we didn’t communicate much or act very actively, especially at the beginning of the project. Additionally, our initial plan was to finish the CG by June 24th, but I didn’t receive some scenes even until July 1st. I’m not very proactive or hardworking myself either, but sometimes this made me frustrated. However, thanks to this project, I gained more experience in complementing my weaknesses. I wasn’t very good at color grading, but when I shared my results, their feedback was very helpful in grading the scenes. So, I’m very happy with this project now.
