Main Character – Rigging

Rigged using ‘Quick rig’ tool
Why??!?!??!!!

After completing the texturing stage, I proceeded to rig the model. Initially, I attempted to use the ‘Quick Rig’ tool with the ‘step by step’ tab. Unfortunately, persistent errors arose, causing the model to shift unexpectedly, resulting in a misalignment of joints and the model.

Human IK – set joints
Create Controllers

Faced with this challenge, I decided to abandon the file and opt for a fresh start using the ‘Human IK’ tool. At this stage, I deleted body faces in the costume to avoid that its skin break through the costume. On previous feedback from Manos, regarding adding joints for the tail, I successfully rigged the model by creating the tail joints and connecting them with the ‘Connect joint’ tool.

To validate the rig, I uploaded it to Mixamo and tested its functionality by selecting the ‘Standard walk’ animation and rendering it (using the previous texture version).

With nearly all settings now in place, the remaining task is animating for this model. I plan to reference various videos and images on the internet to guide the animation process. However, before delving into animation, I recognize the need to revisit and revise my storyboard.

Some meshes moved together even though it wasn’t associated with when I moved some controller. So I adjusted skin weight using ‘Paint Skin Weights tool’.
