EP – feedback session

Film test video

This week, I had a feedback session with Manos where I presented the film test of my project along with the character sketch. Since I needed to redo recordings because of the random defocusing issues during filming, the feedback mainly focused on the working process.

Matchmove test in Nuke, worked well

The upcoming process involves several stages including modeling, texturing, animation, matchmove, and effect. Modeling and texturing are expected to be completed within 1 or 2 days. Subsequently, I’ll start animation and matchmove. During filming, I placed stickers on the desk, monitor, and other objects to facilitate matchmove. got a test with a moving shot in Nuke to assess the effectiveness of these stickers for matchmove. Fortunately, it worked well.

Manos recommended integrating camera movements in some scenes to enhance the character’s integration into the environment. This suggestion aligns with my own thoughts, so I’ll incorporate more movement in the next filming.

Character Sketch

The animation aspect will involve simulating magnetic movement, with the core ball and other parts moving in response to the core ball’s motion. This animation also influences the visual effects, particularly the connection between the body and limbs. While initially planning to execute effects in Unreal Engine, I’m considering utilizing Houdini to achieve more realistic effects. To aid in this, I need to explore tutorials focusing on electric effects.
